Marketing Podcasts to Listen to in 2020
When it comes to running a business, reading is essential. It’s what helps you learn and grow not just as a business owner, but as a person. But, if you’re like a lot of business owners, there aren’t enough hours in the day to pick up a book and read. Which is why podcasts are so helpful.
I’ve pulled together a list of some of the top marketing podcasts to listen to in 2020. Many of the podcasts are hosted by leaders in the marketing industry who are trying to help business owners get better at marketing.
Jason’s Picks
Before I jump into the podcasts I found, I asked Intentionally Inspirational founder Jason Wright to tell me what he’s listening to currently because it helps him shape how he looks at the marketing industry. Here are his top five.
1. Marketing Secrets
Marketing Secrets is from Russell Brunson. If his name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s the co-founder of ClickFunnels, the largest creation software currently on the market. Brunson uses his Marketing Secrets podcast to talk about what he’s learned and what he sees trending in the industry today.
2. The Science of Social Media
The Science of Social Media is brought to you by the folks at Buffer. The show explores the “best practices and insights from top social media marketing experts.” Among the episodes, Brand Secrets for Standing Out in a Crowded World and A Crash Course in Custom Audiences for Your Social Media Ads.
3. Smart Passive Income
The Smart Passive Income podcast is run by Pat Flynn, a podcasting pro who has hosted his own podcasts for more than a decade. The show contains “interviews, strategy, and advice for building your online business the smart way.”
4. Building a StoryBrand
According to the tagline on Apple, “If you’re frustrated because you struggle to get the word out about your product or service, the Building a StoryBrand podcast will help. Fans of the podcast are ecstatic about the fun and entertaining way Donald Miller brings you practical advice about clarifying your message so customers will listen.”
5. The Marketing Matrix
The Marketing Matrix podcast is hosted by marketer Lisanne Murphy. The social media agency owner “…uncovers the best entrepreneurial minds to demystify the nitty-gritty marketing secrets that make all the difference in actual businesses.”
Jason listens to a lot more than this, but those were his top five.
Short Podcasts, Plenty of Information
Short, sweet and to the point. These podcasts are something you can fit in while you’re getting ready for work, or just need a minute to yourself.
Marketing School
Marketing School features Neil Patel and Eric Siu. Each episode is short, clocking in at about 5 minutes apiece. They are released almost daily, which means you still have plenty of opportunities to learn. Podcast episodes include How to Fix Low Engagement on Your YouTube Videos and How to Get More Podcast Listeners.
Marketing Over Coffee
Marketing Over Coffee is run by John Wall and Christopher Penn. The duo tackle “both classic and new marketing” usually in less than 20 minutes.
Other Awesome Podcasts
I haven’t even scratched the surface. Here are some more great podcasts to take a look at.
